Symptom

You want to use your own error documents, but do not create them as .html pages, but as .php scripts so that dynamic content can be delivered. When the error pages are requested, the web browser displays a 404 Not Found message.

Cause

By default, the Apache web server is not designed to provide error documents as dynamic pages. Special adjustments to the configuration of Apache and the upstream Nginx reverse proxy are necessary.

Solution

The following statement must be added to the Apache SSL and non-SSL configurations:

ProxyErrorOverride on

The following statement must be added to the Nginx configuration:

fastcgi_intercept_errors on;

You cannot make these configuration changes yourself. They must be set up in the host's web server configurations and can only be initiated by our support. For Bitpalace customers, of course, for free. Please contact Bitpalace support.
